"It'd creeped over the far edge of the rock, just a hand at first, long fork-like fingers gripping the dead animal like a doll. Then I saw the head, and it grinned at me, bright golden eyes cutting the darkness like two beacons. It was as though it knew I was there and had waited for the most opportune time to make its grand entrance and scare the piss out of me, which it did, but I hadn't noticed that until later.
"When I finally made it past the dreadful glow of its eyes, the rest of the thing's face came into focus..."

MICHAEL LAIMO & GREG STECHMAN'S 'TRIPTYCH'
Horror Anthology Film Based Upon Laimo Works Will Showcase The Talents Of 3 Filmmakers -- Feature Film Will Be Marketed Exclusively For Internet/Mail Order At Less The Cost Of A New Paperback Novel
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday May 1, 2006 SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA
Threading Over Dark writer/director/producer Greg William Stechman and novelist Michael (The Demonologist) Laimo have reached an agreement to bring three of Laimo's original short stories to the small screen. Titled Triptych, the motion picture will consist of three short films, each helmed by a different filmmaker, based upon the works of Michael Laimo. The film will be released by Stechman's production entity Burning Grounds Motion Entertainment, LLC and it will be made available exclusively through the internet and mail order. Readers and fans will be able to download the feature film, special features, as well as liner notes and a DVD cover/label for $4.99 USD plus tax. Those who wish to order the film pre-packaged may do so by logging onto the film's official site and printing a mail order form, or ordering online with PayPal. The cost for a prepackaged DVD is $9.99 USD plus applicable sales tax.
Triptych will be a joint production between Sacramento, California's Burning Grounds Motion Entertainment and Vallejo, California's Room 121 Productions. The anthology film will consist of three short stories adapted to film. The Alley Man, the first story in the film's line up, will be directed by Roberto Berrios, Jr, a longtime collaborator and crew member of Stechman. Alley was adapted by screenwriter Scott Chema. Till Death Do They Part, a darkly comic horror tale concerning a care giver and two very creepy new clients, will be directed by Andrew Hooper based upon his screenplay adaptation. The third installment in the film is Room 412, which was adapted and will be directed by Greg William Stechman. The short concerns a traveling businessman who begins receiving phone calls from the dead in a luxury high rise hotel.
"I've always loved anthology films," states Stechman. "One of my first favorite horror films was Cat's Eye. Creepshow also." Stechman states that his hope for the film is that it will inspire other independent filmmakers to release films online, as well as proving to larger film and video distributors that there is a market for direct-to-video films that are quality (not quantity) oriented. The producers of Triptych are Stechman, Laimo, Jon Rogers, Lacie Oakley, Steven Ng, Scott Chema, and Michael Johnson.
Triptych's official URL is www.triptychmovie.com and it will officially open on October 1, 2006, after the completion of the film. Copies of the motion picture will be available to order on November 1, 2006. For now, fans and readers can peruse the film's MySpace Area, which will be updated daily with production blogs, production stills, behind the scenes videos, as well as storyboards and concept art. The MySpace URL for Triptych is www.myspace.com/triptychmovie.
