"It'd creeped over the far edge of the rock, just a hand at first, long fork-like fingers gripping the dead animal like a doll. Then I saw the head, and it grinned at me, bright golden eyes cutting the darkness like two beacons. It was as though it knew I was there and had waited for the most opportune time to make its grand entrance and scare the piss out of me, which it did, but I hadn't noticed that until later.
"When I finally made it past the dreadful glow of its eyes, the rest of the thing's face came into focus..."

"THE DEMONOLOGIST" FILM OFFICIALLY IN PRE-PRODUCTION STAGES
For immediate release March 17, 2006
SACRAMENTO, CA / MELVILLE, NY As previously announced, writer/director Greg William Stechman has adapted The Demonologist by Michael Laimo for the novel to be brought to the big screen. Stechman worked on the screenplay at his office of his production company, Burning Grounds Motion Entertainment, (http://www.burninggrounds.net/) for nearly two months. After the intense process of adapting Laimo's twisted work into a twisted film, Stechman has completed the first draft and certain preparations are already being made to secure the right director and talent for the project. The creative team hopes to produce the film independently. The property is still searching for a director and a distributor, but that is not stopping Laimo and his team from beginning work on what is certain to be a fantastic and disturbing horror ride. To obtain financing for the independent film, Jon Rogers, a co-owner of Burning Grounds Motion Entertainment, has prepared concept art and story board sequences for the scenes already, based upon Stechman's screenplay; they are viewable below. Make up artist and also a co-owner of Burning Grounds Lacie Oakley, is also working on make up effects concepts. "Preparations such as these in advance not only attract investors, but talent as well. It also makes life easier when principal photography begins. The team hopes to finalize the details of the film by year's end, and begin shooting early 2007.
